I have always loved animals since I was little. I grew up in a small town with multiple pets like guinea pigs, hamsters, cats and dogs, and I took horseback riding lessons on Saturday mornings. When I was young, I had an obsession with becoming a marine biologist but that takes a lot of money, time, and it helps to live by the ocean. In high school I learned about what a veterinary technician was and knew it was the right path for me. I attended the University of Guelph Ridgetown campus for the Veterinary Technician program. I graduated in 2010 and have been mostly working as a vet tech ever since. I have 2 cats, Tyrion a 4-year-old grey shorthair that I adopted from a co-worker’s foster program and Ozzie, a 12-year-old grey tabby that I adopted from school when he was a kitten.
My favourite part about being a vet tech is meeting all the different cats and dogs each day. I like talking to owners and learning about their pets and the funny things that they do. I enjoy getting to know the owners and their pets and being there for them when they need us. I look forward to getting to know new owners and their fur babies as I start my new journey at Manitou Animal Hospital. Something to know about me is that I am a big nerd. I like anything Disney, Harry Potter, and Game of Thrones. When I am not working, I enjoy reading, crafting, and attending comic cons.
