Registered Veterinary Technician

I decided to become a veterinary technician when my first cat became sick. I wanted to not only help pets feel better but wanted to make sure I could take care of their human family too. I joined the Manitou family on June 27, 1995. As a veterinary technician, my job changes all day. It’s hard to pick what part of this job interests me the most, although I do like working directly with clients. I love all the “cuddly” parts of the job – even sometimes when the pets don’t appreciate it. I have been with the Manitou team for over 20 years, and I still love coming to work every day! I love working one-on-one with clients to improve and maintain their pet’s health. I love swapping stories with clients about the crazy and cute things our pets do.

My favourite thing about the clinic is the family-friendly atmosphere we have. We do care not just for your pet, but the human clients too! My first pet was a beautiful Border Collie-Collie named Sparky. Since then, I have had two Border Collies, a Shetland Sheepdog, a Pomeranian mix, cats, snakes, lizards, critters, but my latest addition is a Rottweiler puppy! A fun fact about me is that I love to sing along with the radio. Very rarely I know all the words, so I make up my own, or hum loudly!
